Dr Dinesh Khullar

Biography

Dr. Dinesh Khullar, the Chairman of the Department of Nephrology and Renal Transplant Medicine at Max Super Specialty Hospital in Saket, New Delhi, is responsible for the development, quality assurance, clinical governance, recruitment and credentialing of physicians, and academic activities of DNB and clinical fellowship programs, in addition to the research agenda.

Dr. Khullar is a renal transplant physician with over 25 years of experience, and has been involved in more than 5000 successful kidney transplants, over 1200 of which have been performed at Max Hospital in Saket. These have included some of the most challenging cases such as ABO incompatible, transplantations in highly sensitized recipients, and high risk transplantations with significant comorbidities.

He has also been responsible for setting up an online hemodiafiltration unit for the first time in north India which is considered advanced and state of the art dialysis. Dr. Khullar is involved in many research activities and has been a national lead investigator in many clinical trials, including the landmark DAPA-CKD and Transform clinical trials, among others. He has multiple publications in both national and international journals and has also edited the book “Lupus Nephritis-Pathogenesis & Current Management.”
