Dr Vinay Kumar Shaw

Biography

With about 10000 cases to his record, Dr. Vinay Kumar Shaw has worked at various prestigious healthcare facilities. He was previously Consultant at Medeor Hospital (formerly Rockland Hospital) and earlier at MedantaMedicity, Gurugram. His training and experience include GI, GI Oncological, Minimal Access and Bariatric surgery. Dr. Shaw completed his Master’s degree from GMCH. He did his laparoscopic training at Institute of Minimal Invasive Surgery, AMRI, Kolkata after he didhis Senior Residency which included teaching experience of three years at VMMC and Safdarjang Hospital, one of the largest tertiary level multi-disciplinary healthcare institutions in this part of the World. He has special interests in Minimal Access Surgery and underwent training in Minimal Access surgery in South Korea.

He has published several articles on indexed journals that include the prestigious British Journal of Surgery. He is also the invited faculty in several national scientific conferences as well as a recipient of Travel Grant in South Korea by the International Associations of Surgeons, Gastroenterologists and Oncologists (IASGO). He has introduced safe HAP method of Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy that was introduced in the highly esteemed National IASG conference that was conducted in AIIMS, New Delhi and also in the International Congress of the European Association of Endoscopic Surgeons. He is a reviewer for the Indian Journal of Surgery and believes that it must be able to offer the best quality of surgical care with evidence-based treatment plans.
