About Dr. Vivek Vij
Dr. Vivek Vij is the Chairman of Liver Transplant and Hepato‑Pancreato‑Biliary Sciences at Fortis hospitals in Delhi NCR, including Fortis Noida and Fortis Gurgaon. he is reputed for building one of India's most trusted transplant programs.
He did an MBBS from the University of Pune and then did MS in General Surgery, DNB General Surgery, and MRCS (UK). He also did a specialised training in liver transplantation in the USA through the Roche Preceptorship at the University of Alabama, Birmingham. He has authored over 50 national and international publications focusing on live donor transplants and liver disease management.
In 2015, Dr. Vij was awarded a special honour by the International Liver Transplant Society (ILTS) in Chicago. In 2023–24, he received several national and international awards, including “Best Liver Transplant Surgeon” at major health summits organised by the Indian government and healthcare federations.
