Biography
Dr. Sanjiv Saigal is currently the Principal Director and Head of Hepatology and Liver Transplant Medicine at Max Super Specialty Hospital, Saket, Delhi, India. Dr. Saigal is a leading hepatologist and has led the medical team in liver transplantation for one of the most extensive liver transplant programs for over 20 years in India, contributing to more than 3400 liver transplant operations. He is instrumental in establishing the first, successful Transplant Hepatology program in India.
He had been the Section Editor for Liver, Doctor NDTV. He is a Member of Royal College of Physicians (MRCP, Edinburgh). He is a Member of National Academy of Medical Sciences (MAMS), New Delhi. He has been a Governing Council Member of Indian National Association for Study of the Liver (INASL), in addition to being a member of several National Task Forces on diseases such as Hepatitis C, Hepatitis B, Acute Liver Failure, Acute-on-Chronic Liver Failure, Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease and Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease.
