Biography
Dr. Devananda N. S. is the Head of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery at Manipal Hospitals Old Airport Road, Bangalore, and has over 28 years of extensive experience. He completed his MBBS degree from Karnataka Medical College in Hubli and his MS (General Surgery) from Seth G. S. Medical College in Mumbai. After completing his MS degree, Dr. Devananda continued his studies with an MCh degree in Cardio Thoracic from Sri Chitra Tirunal Institute of Medical Science and Technology in Trivandrum (Institute of National Importance). Dr.Devennad is now a leading Cardiothoracic and Vascular Consultant Surgeon established at the Old Airport Road, Bangalore.
Dr. Devananda is well known for doing a wide variety of surgical procedures including Aortic Aneurysm Surgery, Complex Valve Surgery & Repair, Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery, Beating Heart CABG, Neonatal/Infant/Pediatric Cardiac Surgery, Heart Transplantation and Ventricular Assist Device Implantation.
In Bangalore, Dr. Devananda N S is regarded as one of the best Cardiothoracic Vascular surgeons due to his outstanding work ethic. Dr. Devananda performed approximately 7000 surgical interventions on infants (between four and twelve months of age) and adults, and has performed nearly 10,000 open heart operations throughout his career. He has been successful at treating complex and difficult conditions, such as advanced age and complex medical histories, by treating heart surgery for patients as young as seven days old, and adults over the age of sixty.
Dr Devananda also successfully removed a PNET tumour from the heart. The Rotary Centenary Award for Vocational Excellence was awarded to Dr Devananda for his work. There are currently 12 publications in journals, both national and international. He is well-known for his attention to detail, accurate diagnosis, and compassionate treatment of patients.
