Dr. (Brig) Pankaj Puri is the Director of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Fortis Escorts, Okhla, New Delhi. He graduated from Armed Forces Medical College, Pune and completed his MD in Medicine from Pune University and DM in Gastroenterology from PGIMER, Chandigarh. He obtained his fellowship in Liver Transplantation at Kings College Hospital, London, UK. Previously Dr. Puri was the Head of Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatobiliary Sciences in the Army Hospital (Research and Referral), New Delhi where he was instrumental in establishing a liver transplantation program.
He has also been at prominent academic positions like Professor of Medicine at Delhi University and Professor and Head of Internal Medicine at Armed Forces Medical College, Pune. As an active member of the Governing Council of the Indian National Association for the Study of Liver, Dr. Puri has more than 80 publications and 20 years' experience in the field of gastroenterology and hepatology and his areas of expertise include hepatitis B and C treatment, chronic liver disease, liver transplantation and advanced endoscopic procedures. He is skilled at diagnostic therapeutic endoscopy and is not limited to a range of therapeutic skills in colonoscopy, ERCP and liver transplantation.
