Then he travelled to foreign lands, where he served his apprenticeship with Prof. Ottavio Alfieri, who was internationally recognized as the pioneering heart valve surgeon. He has served as cardiac surgeon in several reputable hospitals including San Raffaele Hospital, Milan, Italy, where he worked under Prof. Ottavio Alfieri, a highly renowned cardiac surgeon with pioneering methods of valve repair and valve surgery in severe left ventricular dysfunction. He has collaborated with luminaries such as Prof. Stanley John.
