Dr. Vinay Munikoty Venkatesh was trained with a variety of cases involving haematolymphoid malignancies, Solid Tumours and Benign Haematology
While he was a fellow (DM Fellowship for 3 years) in PGIMER, Chandigarh, he was trained with a variety of cases involving haematolymphoid malignancies, Solid Tumours and Benign Haematology; there are more than 600 New Oncology cases and 250 New Haematology cases seen every year at this Hospital. I am trained to work independently in the management of these cases, including emergencies and complications. There is a very well developed Thalassemia Daycare and Hemophilia services in this Division.
Since he joined St. John’s Medical College Hospital, Bangalore as a Consultant in August 2018, he has continued to apply his training in Haematology Oncologist in practice. We have dedicated nurses providing care for these children as well as team meetings on a regular basis to support the optimal care for these children. He has attended several National and International Conferences during this period. We are also currently involved in National Clinical Trials (InPOG – Indian Pediatric Oncology Group).
He gained valuable experience at Bristol Royal Children's Hospital managing children before and after Stem Cell Transplantation (Allogeneic, Autologous and Cord Blood Transplant) for a range of Haematological Conditions (including Refractory Leukaemia, Lymphoma, Benign Hematological conditions e.g. Hemoglobinopathies such as Thalassemia and Sickle Cell Disease, Marrow Failure Disorders and Immunodeficiencies).
